Foundation will search out areas of need and explore creative and

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

ANNUAL
POST OFFICE FOOD DRIVE:
SATURDAY
MAY 14TH
On Saturday,
May 14, 2005 the National Association of Letter Carriers will be
collecting your donations of non-perishable food. This will be the
twelfth year that we have been recipients of this canned food drive.
This is especially helpful to us in providing emergency food boxes
each month. Many of us have had the privilege of working along with
the Postal Carriers on this project. Boy Scout Troop # 21 has also
helped collect food in Turlock in previous years. Watch for notification
from the Post Office in your mail box, and please remember to put
your non-perishable donation near your mailbox on May 14th!

On
the last day, Jesus will say to those on His right hand, "Come,
enter the Kingdom. For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was sick and you
visited me." Then Jesus will turn to those on His
left hand and say, "Depart from me because I was hungry
and you did not feed me, I was thirsty and you did not
give me to drink, I was sick and you did not visit me." These
will ask Him, "When did we see You hungry, or thirsty
or sick and did not come to Your help?" And Jesus
will answer them, "Whatever you neglected to do unto
one of these least of these, you neglected to do unto Me!…If
we remember that God loves us, and that we can love others
as He loves us, then America can become a sign of peace
for the world. From here, a sign of care for the weakest
of the weak - the unborn child - must go out to the world.
If you become a burning light of justice and peace in the
world, then really you will be true to what the founders
of this country stood for. God bless you!

FEINSTEIN
FOUNDATION CHALLENGE
Many thanks
to all of you who donated money and food during March and April to
help build our share of the Feinstein Challenge Grant. A special
thank you goes to Sacred Heart School of Turlock for hosting a food
drive toward our cause. Your response to this challenge has been
tremendous. We’ll let you know the results!

For
our homeless friends, we are in need of razors, toothbrushes and sample
size toothpaste, and deodorant. To
keep cold feet warm, socks will be a welcome
gift.
In the kitchen we need large cans of tuna, and gallon
size Ziploc bags.

served on our trucks during the month of April 2005 were 27,628.
In our emergency food box program 250 families (615 people) were
provided with a three-day, three meals per day supply of food, which
equals 5,535 meals.
